Jay was born in Sonoma Valley California, and his love of Music and Song began when he was a 5 year old “Navy Brat” in Yokohama, Japan. He heard Fats Domino’s “Blueberry Hill” on the radio and was immediately hooked (Big Time!). He wrote his first song at the age of sixteen, and he’s been writing ever since. Jay has always respected artists who could get on stage alone, and entertain an audience with meaningful and thought provoking songs. Some of his many other influences include folkrock, world beat, indie, and americana. Rhythmic diversity has been a primary focus in Jay’s writing, and “Acoustic Indie” is the genre that most closely encompasses his style. In the second half of 2011 he recorded two CD’s of his songs. The first CD, “As Good A Time As Any”, was released on July 25, 2012. The second CD,”On The Ride”, was released on January 15, 2014. Jay is a proud member of ASCAP.
